As a community-minded company, we wanted to figure out a way to bring everyone on Maynard Drive together, all while doing some good for the community. Well, we found a way, with the help of the Mahwah Center for Food Action – and with a little help from our friends.
During the week of June 22-26, our corporate neighbors worked to fill the food drive boxes with non-perishable goods and personal hygiene products. What a turnout! Each company was so enthusiastic, helpful, and appreciative. Participants included Amica Mutual Insurance Co., Daimler, First Franchise Capital, GE Healthcare, Lexmark, NUS Consulting Group, Café Amore, and Seix Investment Advisors LLC. Thanks to all our corporate neighbors who helped us help our community.
We’re happy to report that our donations filled a huge warehouse bin, including everything from pasta and sauce to toothpaste and shampoo. On Friday the 26th, the entire Words and Pictures team delivered it all to Center for Food Action and helped stock the pantry at their warehouse in Mahwah. This experience really reinforced the knowledge that there is an absolute need for these things, even within our own community. We came away tired, sweaty, and thankful for the simple necessities of life, like food on the table.
